LOCTITE 609 Retaining Compound – 609

LOCTITE 609 Retaining Compound is a one-part, high-strength, anaerobic-curing adhesive formulated for the permanent retention of cylindrical assemblies. It is ideal for locking bushings and sleeves in housings, securing shafts, and augmenting press or interference fits where reliable long-term performance is required.

The green retaining compound cures in the absence of air when confined between close-fitting metal surfaces, forming a high-strength, corrosion-resistant bond that prevents loosening due to shock and vibration. It also protects assembled parts against fretting corrosion.

LOCTITE 609 is widely used in electric motor manufacturing and maintenance, including rotor-to-shaft assemblies in fractional and sub-fractional horsepower motors, as well as in general industrial machinery and MRO applications.
