LOCTITE 242 Threadlocker is a general-purpose, anaerobic-curing adhesive formulated to lock and seal threaded fasteners exposed to vibration and dynamic loads. Its medium strength and medium viscosity provide reliable performance while still allowing normal disassembly using standard hand tools.

The thixotropic formulation prevents adhesive migration after application, ensuring clean and controlled use, especially on vertical or overhead fasteners. LOCTITE 242 cures in the absence of air when confined between metal threads, forming a durable bond that also helps protect fasteners from corrosion.
