Altivar Soft Starter – ATS480C59Y

The Altivar Soft Starter ATS480C59Y from Schneider Electric is an advanced soft starter solution designed to control the acceleration and deceleration of asynchronous motors across a wide voltage range of 208–690V AC. Rated at 590 A in normal duty, it can support motors from 160 kW to 560 kW, depending on supply voltage.

Built for heavy-duty industrial applications, the ATS480 is designed with cybersecurity, digitization, and high availability in mind. Its Torque Control System (TCS) ensures optimal control over motor torque during start and stop phases. It also includes dynamic braking and DC injection features for efficient stopping of high-inertia loads.

Flexible installation is enabled by support for both in-line and inside-delta configurations, while embedded test routines ease commissioning. The ATS480 is compatible with Altivar Drives accessories and retains mechanical and electrical compatibility with ATS48, allowing seamless migration and integration.

Certified to international standards including IEC/EN60947-4-1, CE, cULus, DNV, ABS, and more, and compliant with RoHS and REACH, the ATS480C59Y is also part of Schneider Electric’s Green Premium™ offer.
