The Altivar Machine ATV320 Variable Speed Drive is a compact and high-performance drive engineered by Schneider Electric for complex OEM applications. Designed to control 3-phase synchronous and asynchronous motors, it delivers precise torque and speed performance, even at very low speeds, with sensorless flux vector control and energy-saving capabilities for open-loop synchronous motors.

Rated for 5.5kW (7.5HP) at 380–500V AC, this drive is housed in a book-style format for easy integration into standard automation cabinets, making it ideal for space-constrained environments. It is built for harsh industrial conditions, with IEC 60721-3-3 class 3C3 coated PCBs that support reliable operation in ambient temperatures up to 60°C without extra cooling.

The ATV320 integrates five built-in safety functions, configurable through Schneider Electric’s SoMove software, with compatibility for Preventa safety modules. It also supports parallel motor connections and extended frequency ranges for high-speed motors, making it suitable for a broad set of demanding machine functions in industries like packaging, textile, material handling, hoisting, and mechanical actuators.

This drive is certified to international EMC and safety standards and is fully compatible with Schneider’s EcoStruxure Machine architecture. Optional accessories including braking resistors, line chokes, and EMC filters are available depending on drive rating and application needs.
