Description
The SKF FRB 5/215 locating (stabilizing) ring is engineered to secure bearings in the locating position by preventing unwanted axial movement in housings. When the bearing seat width in the housing does not match the bearing width, stabilizing rings are used to fill the gap and maintain proper alignment.
Typically, two locating rings are required per housing—one on each side of the bearing—for maximum stability. However, if only one ring is necessary, it should be installed on the same side as the lock nut to ensure reliable positioning.
